Presenting

Meeting and talking to interesting people is what fascinates me the most. In the studio for Sky News, I interview people every time I’m on air (you can see examples in the video section of the site) and the challenge is different every time depending on who is in front of me.

I believe that discussion and debate is healthy, but there is an inherent risk too - with opinions more and more polarised, striving for balance and impartiality so the audience can make up its own mind on a subject is regularly misconstrued and occasionally misrepresented. It’s not for the faint-hearted.

There have often been times to rush out of the door and towards danger, like the crimes, riots and terror attacks I’ve covered - or head for the airport to see war and natural disasters unfold.

I love sport too, and have presented for the Premier League and cycling coverage for ITV and Eurosport. I’ve even done the odd quiz show to varying degrees of success…
